Sumedha is a voluntary non-profit organization registered under the Rajasthan Society Registration Act 1958 with its office at Jaipur.

The Principal objective of the organization is to help the talented children of poor families who are deprived of higher education due to lack of resources and because of poverty they have to work at low paid jobs in government/private sector. They are unable to showcase their talent to the society and contribute to the development of the country. These talented children sum up to around two-third of the population of India today. It's very difficult to have a realistic estimate of the decay of human capital.

Late, Sh. Meetha Lal Mehta (Padma Shree), Former Chief Secretary Rajasthan founded this organisation. It was his dream that not even a single talented child of poor families should remain deprived of education due to financial constraints. He laid the foundation of Sumedha in 1998 in order to make this dream come true. The seed of Sumedha has grown by leaps and bounds in last 18 years. With the support of Sumedha, so far 6238 talented students form resource-poor families have got the opportunity to progress in their life by virtue of education.Click here to read more about Sh.
